Follow-up

Once you have paid the application fee and your child’s application file is complete (including the reference form from your child’s current teacher/caregiver), we will review your child’s application file and will contact you to let you know whether your application will move forward.

Step 3

Independent student visit
An independent student visit is the final step in your child’s application.
Timing

Students applying for September admission typically visit between January 15 and the first day of school. Visits re: applicants seeking a mid-year transfer are arranged as needed.

Ideally, visits happen while school is in session and the applicant spends the whole school day with us.

What happens during a visit?
  • participation in regular classroom activities
  • individual and group work
  • unstructured play/social time
  • in-class interaction with various teachers

Soon after a child’s visit, we check in to answer any follow-up questions.  Occasionally, a second independent school visit is required before a decision is made.

Applying from outside Nova Scotia?

During the inquiry phase, please ask us how we handle that situation using provisional acceptance based on the preliminary file review.

Step 4

Our final review
Our final review and decision

We aim to let you know the status of your child’s application within 10 business days.

Approved applicants move to Step 5 when we contact their parent(s) to offer a space.
No action/commitment is required from you until we offer a place and send the enrolment agreement for your signature.

Step 5

Your decision and commitment
When a space is offered, complete these steps to secure your child’s enrolment.
  1. pay the non-refundable deposit (a pre-paid portion of the school fees)
  2. complete and return the legally binding Fee Payment Agreement, and
  3. choose your payment schedule and arrange remaining payments by pre-authorized withdrawal.

Any space offered will be held for a maximum of four business days.
Failure to enrol by the deadline given will release that spot for other approved applicants.
